Dolama is one of the most commonly used piece of clothing among the Ottomans. It is long sleeved with buttons on the chest and wrists, and fits the torso well. It is always worn over a shirt and under a kaftan. It was widely used between the 14th and 19th centuries. During these five hundred years two common styles were available: divan and Sipahi. Our dolamas are based on the traditional sipahi style, as they are the most suitable for horse riding.
