Caftan is one of the most commonly used piece of clothing among the Ottomans. It is long sleeved with buttons on the chest and wrists, and fits the torso well. It is always worn over a dolama or zıbın. It was widely used between the 14th and 19th centuries. During these five hundred years two common styles were available: Divan and Sipahi.
